Murray says he must play better to have any chance in semi-final

8:30 am on 26 January 2012

The British fourth seed Andy Murray remains on track to claim his maiden grand slam title after a straight sets quarter-final victory over Japan's Kei Nishikori at the Australian Open, however a rather large road bump stands in his way in the form of world number one Novak Djokovic.

The defending champion Serb booked a Friday night semi-final showdown with the Scot after beating Spaniard David Ferrer and Murray knows he must lift his game if he's to advance to his second Melbourne final in two years.

Second seed Rafael Nadal and third seed Roger Federer meet in the first men's semi tonight, while Kim Clijsters does battle with Victoria Azarenka in today's first women's semi-final before Maria Sharapova takes on Petra Kvitova for a place in the final.
