49ers and Patriots move on the NFL

The San Francisco 49ers and the New England Patriots have advanced in the NFL American Football play-offs.

The 49ers reached the NFC championship game for the first time in 15 years with a 36-32 victory over the New Orlean Saints in San Francisco.

There were 4 lead changes in the last 4 minutes with the 49ers scoring the winning touchdown in the last 9 seconds.

Meanwhile the New England patriots are through to the AFC Championship after a comprehensive 45-10 victory over Denver in Boston.

The Patriots quarterback Tom Brady threw for 363 yards and 6 touchdowns.

The 49ers will next play the winner of tomorrow's match between defending SuperBowl champions Green Bay and the New York Giants, while the Patriots will now play either Houston or Baltimore.
