The New Zealand tennis number one Michael Venus has quickly got over his first round singles loss and is looking forward to doubles action.
He will join Davis Cup team-mate Dan King Turner as a wildcard pairing in Auckland and will face Treat Huey and Scott Lipsky.
Venus says they played together in Thailand last year and both felt good with the combination.
Fellow New Zealanders Artem Sitak and Rubin Statham were also wildcard entries in the doubles, but lost 6-3 6-2 by Czech Frantisek Cermak and Slovakian Filip Polasek.
