Giant killer against cool head in ASB Classic final

8:20 am on 7 January 2012

China's Zheng Jie is well aware no one expected her to make today's ASB Classic tennis final against Italy's Flavia Pennetta - she's even a tad surprised herself.

She will enter this afternoon's clash as rank outsider to win her maiden Auckland title against the fourth seed, but Zheng has developed a reputation for her giant killing feats.

The 28-year-old concedes she's up against it in today's final, after yesterday's upset over Russian two time grand slam champion Svetlana Kuznetsova, in the longest match of the tournament.

The final gets underway at 1pm.
