The Wellington Phoenix striker Paul Ifill says it's pleasing to become the club's leading goal scorer, after opening the scoring in last night's two-nil win over defending A League football champions Brisbane in Dunedin.
Ifill's goal half an hour into the game took his club tally to 22 one more than All Whites striker Shane Smeltz who now play's at Perth Glory.
Nick Ward scored the side's second goal inside the final ten minutes.
Ifill says he hopes there are plenty more goals to come.
However the prospect of Ifill adding to his tally this weekend against Melbourne Victory appear slim though as he limped off late in last night's game with a groin strain and is unlikely to play in Sunday's game.
