World number one seeks winning end to great year

The golfer of the year Luke Donald believes he has enough left in the tank to end his record-breaking year with one more victory - at the Australian Masters which starts today at the Victoria club in Melbourne.

The world number one says the flight from Dubai to Melbourne was a bit rough after a few drinks to celebrate his historic winning of both the US and European money titles, but he insists he remains highly motivated for his last event of the year.

Donald is making his first trip to Australia as a professional, years after his only other visit, as an amateur in the 1990s.

The West Australian Greg Chalmers is bidding to complete a sweep of Australian golf's three biggest events, having already won the Australian Open and PGA championships.
