The world's second best doubles combination has confirmed they'll defend their title at next month's ASB Classic women's tennis tournament in Auckland.

Kveta Peschke of the Czech Republic and Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia will be back on court at the ASB Tennis Centre in early January.

Peschke and Srebotnik have had their best season yet winning the Wimbledon doubles title and being named WTA doubles team of the year.

The pair also won titles in Doha, Eastbourne, Carlsbad and Beijing this year, and they were ranked co-number ones for a 10 week period from early July.

30-year-old Srebotnik is a former ASB Classic singles champion when in 2005 she won both the singles and doubles titles.

Former world umber one and seven-time Grand Slam winner Venus Williams leads the singles line-up.
