The Canterbury cricket coach Bob Carter doesn't think a lack of first class cricket will hurt the Black Caps before the series against Zimbabwe in late January.

The Black Caps have returned home from their historic second test victory over Australia, facing a diet of limited overs matches, with the next Plunket Shield 4-day games not until February.

Bob Carter' Canterbury side take on top-of-the-table Auckland in their Ford Trophy one day match in Auckland today.
