The teenager shotput prodigy Jacko Gill's attempt at the under 20 world record in Auckland tonight has been postponed because of bad weather,.
Gill was to return to the Millennium Institute's Sovereign Stadium, where a week ago he passed the New Zealand Olympic qualifying standard for London by eight centimetres with a throw of 20.30 metres.
That was with the 7.26 kilogram senior shot and this evening he was to try to better the junior world record of 22.73m with six kilogram shot.
Athletics New Zealand sport manager Brett Addison says Gill will make another attempt next Monday.
