Manchester United and Manchester City have both failed to confirm their places in the knockout phase of European football's Champions League with both English clubs failing to win their latest matches.
Defensive blunders meant United was held to a two all draw with Benfica at Old Trafford, meaning the Portuguese club advances to the knockout phase.
United now need a draw in their final group match to advance.
Manchester City dominated possession but lost 2-1 to Napoli.
The result leaves City in third place in their group but still in contention for the knockout phase.
In other matches Real Madrid advanced with a 6-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb, Ajax Amsterdam drew nil all at Olympique Lyon and need only a point at home to Real Madrid to reach the last 16.
And Lille won 2-0 at CSKA Moscow to send Group B rivals Inter Milan through while reviving their own chances.
Inter drew 1-1 at Trabzonspor in Turkey.
