Next Springbok coach to be head hunted

5:59 am on 18 November 2011

The South African Rugby Union has confirmed that the next Springbok coach will be head hunted by them.

The Saru executive council has decided not to advertise the position or to invite applications... instead a short-list will be drawn up to fit criteria they have identified as important.

Saru chief executive Jurie Roux has confirmed that as the incumbent national coach, Peter De Villiers will be assured of a place on the shortlist.

New Zealanders John Mitchell and John Plumtree, who both coach Super Rugby sides in the Republic, are both also likely to be considered.
