The owners of the favourite for next week's New Zealand Cup at Addington are appealing the verdict that's seen Smoken Up stripped of its Interdominion pacing title, for returning a positive drug test.
The trainer of the Australian horse, Lance Justice, was also found guilty of presenting a horse to race while not free of the prohibited substance DMSO - a decision Addington CEO Shane Gloury says gives the wrong impression of Justice.
Gloury remains confident Justice and Smoken Up will turn out at the 600-thousand dollar race on Tuesday.
