The 29-year-old American Bill Haas is still be pinching himself after scooping the richest prize in golf in Atlanta.
Haas's playoff win over Hunter Mahan at the Tour Championship on Monday earned him $US1.44 million, but it was some time before he became aware that his victory had also won him the FedexCup series which carried with it a $US10-million bonus, so it became an $11.44 million payday.
He's also improved 25 places to 20th in the world rankings.
