Rotorua teen shooter Jack Norward has won a silver medal in the Men's Trap at the ISSF Junior World Championships in Serbia.
The 19-year-old finished just one point behind the winner in Belgrade with a score of 121 out of a possible 125, opening the door to nomination to the New Zealand Olympic Team to London 2012.
New Zealand Shooting head Gavin Paton says it's the first time a junior from here has finished so far up the medal table, and well inside the top 16 required for selection to the Games.
Paton says the result is exceptional and they're looking at a very talented individual. He hopes to send a team of three shooters to London. The nominations will be made next May 2012.
