An unprecedented night at the National Rugby League judiciary has brought an end to Adam Blair's season and his term with the Melbourne Storm, while his Manly antagonist Glenn Stewart was given a 24 hour reprieve to rebuild a case which bordered on the farcical last night.
Blair was banned for a total of five games for his part in a fight with Stewart last Friday night which sparked an all-in brawl at Brookvale Oval on Friday night, and a separate striking charge, so he won't play any part in the Storm's finals canmpaign.
Blair, who will join Wests Tigers next season, could still play for the Kiwis later this year in the Four Nations tournament.
Meanwhile Glen Stewart was given a 24 hour adjournment after his lawyer sensationally quit the case yesterday afternoon after failing to get clarification from the judiciary on a number of technical aspects of the NRL's code under which Stewart was charged.
Stewart intended to plead not guilty yesterday, but he now has the opportunity to change his plea.
