Tiger Woods has heeded US captain Fred Couples' call and added another US PGA Tour event to his schedule ahead of the Presidents Cup golf competition in Melbourne in November.
The out of form, former world No.1 Woods will play on the tour's autumn series for the first time after entering the October's Frys.com Open in California.
The autumn series is commonly contested by players battling to retain their tour cards or improve their ranking with most the leading players having signed off for the year, after the rich play-off series which culminates in the Tour Championship.
However Woods has failed to qualify for the four-tournament playoff series and Couples had urged him to pick another tournament as he attempts to regain lost form before heading to Australia in November, when he's playing the Australian Open in Sydney then the Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne.
Couples has already said he'll give Woods one of his two captains picks on the US team for the Presidents Cup.
