The Warriors will start their 2012 season at Auckland's Eden Park after being approached by the National Rugby League to return to New Zealand's biggest stadium for what it says will be a blockbuster opening round.
Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah says they're working with the NRL to secure one of the competition's top-ranked clubs for new head coach Brian McClennan's first game in the competition, which will start on March 1, a week earlier than this year.
The Warriors drew a club record crowd of 38,412 when they played Parramatta at Eden Park this year but Scurrah says Mt Smart Stadium will continue to be their home ground for the remaining 11 home games next season.
