The New Plymouth runner Lisa Tamati will arrive back in New Zealand tonight unsure of her next assignment but knowing it will be hard to top her latest achievement the 222km La Ultra marathon through the Himalayas.
Tamati was the second woman home taking a little over 53 hours to comptele the race, which climbs to an altitude of 5,400 metres.
She finished fourth overall in a field of six.
Tamati and had to contend with asthma attacks, snow storms, sand storms and searing heat during her run.
