The St George coach Wayne Bennett dropped a bombshell on the National Rugby League side conceding he has no confidence the Dragons can reverse the horror run of form after being upset 20-12 by the Roosters at WIN Stadium last night.
It was once the rock which personified the Dragons NRL dominance but Bennett described the defensive effort against Sydney Roosters as heartbreaking.
The Dragons displayed a soft underbelly not seen before during Bennett's tenure at the club, the Roosters targeting the premiers up the middle to stunning effect to bring a bright end to a week from hell.
The defending champions fourth straight loss leaves their title ambitions on thin ice and Bennett says he's lost faith in the Dragons ability.
The Dragons are now in fifth place just one point ahead of the in-form Warriors and Tigers, while the Rabbitohs are up to ninth just two points outside the top eight after thrashing the Raiders 40-18 in Canberra.
