Brisbane rugby league captain Darren Lockyer celebrated his record-breaking 350th NRL game with a 34-16 win over North Queensland.
Broncos fullback Josh Hoffman - a Kiwis hopeful - grabbed a career-first hat-trick as the champion five-eighth Lockyer, playing in front of a sellout crowd of 26,463, became the game's most capped first grade player in 103 years, eclipsing Terry Lamb and Steve Menzies.
Elsewhere Wests Tigers notched their fifth straight victory, beating the Penrith Panthers 32-18 in Sydney to move above the Warriors into sixth place on the ladder.
The Warriors welcome the eighth-placed Newcastle Knights to Mt Smart in the early evening kickoff, with the winners cementing their top eight spot while the losers will be looking over their shoulders at the chasing pack.
