Waikato's beaten Cantebury 27-13 in their ITM cup provincial rugby match in Christchurch on Wednesday afternoon.
Waikato raced to a 19-0 lead and led 24-10 at half-time.
The win lifts Waikato to second equal on the table along with Taranaki who had a 39-33 win over competition leaders Bay of Plenty in New Plymouth on Tuesday night.
