Dixon scores first win of 2011

New Zealand's Scott Dixon has claimed his first victory of the IndyCar racing season after winning the latest round in Ohio.

The Target Chip-Ganassi driver started from pole and was clearly the fastest man on the track, the victory breaking a run of bad luck for the former champion.

The win also keeps the New Zealander third in the championship standings, 93 points behind team-mate and series leader Dario Franchitti, who finished second in Ohio ahead of Ryan Hunter-Ray.

Dixon was passed by Franchitti late in the race but launched like a bat out of hell following the restart to reclaim the lead, and the 31-year-old was a happy man after breaking his victory drought.
