One of the leading advocates for the sport of squash and a former president of Squash New Zealand, Don Green has passed away.
Green, originally from Timaru, spent most of his life further south in Dunedin and was one of New Zealand's leading players throughout the 1950s, winning the national title in 1956.
He became the New Zealand delegate to the International Squash Rackets Federation from 1975-81 and was accorded life membership of the national association in 1976.
In 2010 he was inducted into the Squash New Zealand Hall of Fame in recognition of his contribution to the sport.
