Auckland have kept their ITM Cup season alive with a 39-26 win over Southland in their Premiership match at Eden Park.
Auckland led 15-12 at halftime before going on to score their second win of the season.
Southland hasn 't won in Auckland since 1939.
Otago moved up to second in the Championship with a 30-14 win over Counties Manukau at Carisbrook with Glenn Dickson scoring 20 points.
