Toeava on bench for Auckland

1:46 pm on 30 July 2011

All Black Isaia Toeava will make his long awaited return to rugby from the bench on Sunday when Auckland play on Taranaki in New Plymouth.

The 25-year-old fullback has not played since the Blues' round 11 encounter with the Highlanders on April 29 after finding a previous stress fracture in his hip had reoccurred.

But Auckland's head coach Mark Anscombe says not too much expectation should be placed on Toeava, who's had only one training run with the team.

Auckland have had a rare eight-day break since winning in Wellington last weekend so the only change to the starting side is the return of Chris Lowrey, who'll play lock after being concussed in the home loss to Otago.
