A few changes expected for the All Blacks against Springboks

The All Black selectors have indicated they'll be making only a couple of changes to the side which beat Fiji last week for the opening tri nations test against South Africa in Wellington on Saturday night.

Assistant coach Wayne Smith says they don't know what their best fifteen is at present and says they'll be selecting a side based on player welfare.

He says several playing are champing at the bit to play while others are still in recovery mode from the Super 15 and experience tells him they need to play the ones who are keenest.

He says Brad Thorn, Kieran Read, Owen Franks and Keven Mealamu are unlikley to play, while Cory Jane is the only one of the injured group in contention for selection this week.
