Lewis Hamilton secured his second win of the year and the 16th of his career, confirming McLaren's renaissance with a brilliant victory in last night's German Grand Prix.
The 26-year-old Englishman, who started from second on the grid, took the lead from the start and resisted strong challenges to take the chequered flag 3.9 seconds ahead of Fernando Alonso, followed by the pole sitter Mark Webber and his defending champion teammate Sebastian Vettel.
Alonso had to hitch a ride back to the pits as his car ran out of petrol soon after the finish.
Vettel is 77 points clear of his teammate Webber in the title race, and Hamilton has moved into third, 82 points behind the German.
The Hungarian round is this weekend.
