Birmingham City's appointed former Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton to lead them in English football's the Championship competition next season.

Birmingham, were relegated from the Premier League on the last day of the season.

Manager Alex McLeish then quit the club before making a controversial move to take over at City's bitter rivals Aston Villa.
