The American cyclist David Zabriskie has won the 6th stage of the Tour of California, a 24km infividual time trial ride around the Danish settlement of Solvang.
Fellow American Chris Horner held onto the yellow jersey but his lead has been cut to just 38 seconds by three-time race winner Levi Leipheimer.
Horner was 6th fastest on the stage and New Zealander Jeremy Vennell 8th fastest.
Horner now has the difficult task of trying to hold onto his overall lead heading into Saturday's seventh stage which finishes with a gruelling climb up Mount Baldy.
The seventh stage is 122km-long, beginning in Claremont and wrapping up near the alpine village of Mount Baldy where the riders will climb to almost 2,000 metres above sea level.
