Having signed first-five Dan Carter to a four-year deal, the other key player the New Zealand rugby union's waiting on is All Blacks skipper Richie McCaw.
Carter says he didn't discuss his plans with McCaw, turning down several lucrative European offers to stay in New Zealand.
McCaw's expected to announce his plans in the near future as to what he intends doing after the world cup but Carter says he's unsure what he'll do.
Carter says his focus has been on sorting out his own future but says he hopes McCaw does decide to stay.
