2:10 pm on 9 April 2011

The young New Zealand driver Brendon Hartley will compete in the Formula Renault 3.5 Championship in Europe this year after signing with the Gravity Sport Management team for the 2011 season.

The 21-year-old, who has been in Europe for five years, was a Red Bull and Toro Rosso Formula One reserve driver in 2009.

Hartley won the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup in 2007 and last season drove in the GP2 series.

He is currently testing with the team ahead of the Renault World Series season-opener in Spain next weekend.
