Woods dismisses Poulter comments about his Masters chances

10:16 am on 7 April 2011

Tiger Woods has dismissed Ian Poulter's prediction that the game's most dominant player won't finish in the top five at Augusta this week.

Woods hasn't won a tournament in almost a year and a half but he's still second favourite behind the defending champion Phil Mickelson.

The outspoken Poulter believes this year's tournament will be won by a European, while another to dismiss Woods' title chances is the dual Masters champion Nick Faldo who says the fout-times champion has lost his aura and opponents no longer fear him.

In dismissing outright Poulter's comments, Woods does concede he needs to improve his putting.

The first group in the field of 98 tees off just before 11 o'clock tonight.
