The South African born, Otago fast bowler Neil Wagner has created New Zealand cricket history in taking five wickets in one over.

Playing against Wellington in a Plunket Shield match in Queenstown, Wagner took four wickets off the first four balls of an over for a double hatrick, and then the fifth on his final delivery - finishing with six for 36 for the innings.

Wellington were all out for 148 in reply to Otago's first innings of 441 for eight declared and following on were then dismissed for 155 giving Otago an innings and 138 run win.

The previous best first class performance in an over by a bowler was in the 1929-30 when Englishman Maurice Allom took four wickets in five balls for the MCC against New Zealand at Lancaster Park, in Christchurch.
