New Zealand win Adelaide Sevens to stretch World Series lead

New Zealand has beaten South Africa 28-20 in the Cup final to win the sixth leg of the rugby sevens World Series in Adelaide and extend their overall lead to 13 points with two tournaments remaining.

It is the New Zealanders' fourth Cup title of the season and leaves them with 134 points, 13 ahead of England on 121 with Samoa (100), South Africa (92) and Fiji (90) now lying third, fourth and fifth respectively.

In the other trophies Wales beat Fiji and then Argentina to take the Plate, USA overcame Kenya to claim the Bowl and Japan beat Tonga to claim the Shield.

The world series now heads to England before the final leg in Scotland.
