The Canterbury Tactix chief executive says the entire netball franchise can't wait to get back on their home court tonight.

The Tactix play the Southern Steel in a trans-tasman clash, their last match at the CBS Arena was the night before the February 22 earthquake.

CEO Peter Smith says the city's desperate for some live sporting action, while the players are looking to end their winless season.

He says the players are due for the win and have been incredibly professional about putting the effects of the earthquake to one side.

Smith says they're hoping for a capacity crowd of close to 6000.
