St George Illawarra rugby league coach Wayne Bennett's declined to renew his contract with the club but is yet to decide where he'll coach he'll coach next season.
His assistant Steve Price will take over the side from 2012.
The Dragons chief executive Peter Doust says the club tried all it could to retain Bennett beyond this season.
Bennett says he declined to renew his contract because he felt he had completed his job at the club, having delivering the Dragons the premiership last year.
He refused to give any indication of where he'll head to next though is it's believed it will come down to a decision between Newcastle and a return to Brisbane, the club he guided to six premierships as foundation coach.
