Australian league's most successful coach Wayne Bennett is set to announce later today his departure from St George Illawarra at the end of this season.
Bennett is believed to have informed the Dragons chief executive Peter Doust of his decision, and he's expected to endorse his assistant coach Steve Price as the man to take over next year.
Newcastle and his former club Brisbane will be vying for the services of the seven-time premiership winning coach for next year and beyond.
