Black Caps believe World Cup title within their grasp

New Zealand's man of the match Jacob Oram thinks the Black Caps now have the self-belief to win their maiden World Cup cricket title after stunning South Africa by 49 runs in Dhaka to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

Jesse Ryder anchored the New Zealand innings with an impressive 83 to lift the underdogs to 221 for eight before the Black Caps bowlers skittled the Proteas for just 172 runs for their first-ever quarter-final victory at the one day showpiece.

Oram led the charge with four wickets for 39 and two magnificent catches and the big all-rounder says the upset win should prove the Black Caps are genuine title contenders on the subcontinent.

Oram says having now beaten the top qualifiers from the other group, who beat India, his side should have the belief to go all the way, and he's never been prouder to wear the silver fern.

The Black Caps will now meet Sri Lanka in the first semi-final in Colombo on Tuesday after the co-hosts beat England.
