Sanzar not set to make overseas Super matches an annual event

Sanzar say they'll be following this weekend's historic Super Rugby match in London closely, but at this stage they have no plans to make it an annual event.

The Crusaders will host the Sharks at Twickenham hoping for a good gate to offset the loss of their home ground AMI Stadium for the year following the Christchurch earthquake.

Sanzar chief executive Greg Peters says they gave permission for the Crusaders to play in London only after their broadcast partners gave their blessing.

Peters says they have an agreement to play Super Rugby matches in the 3 Sanzar countries at times acceptable to broadcasters.

However Peters says they're always looking at ways to increase interest in the game and so future matches in other countries is a possibility.
