5:46 pm on 17 March 2011

They may have lost to Parramatta in their first match at Eden Park in Auckland but the Warriors are off-field winners, confirming that last Saturday's 'Battle of Eden' was the National Rugby League club's biggest box office success.

Chief executive Wayne Scurrah says the club record home game attendance of 38,412 makes the season-opener their highest grossing game.

The crowd of 38,412 topped the club's previous home record of 32,174 in the round six match against Illawarra at Mount Smart Stadium in 1995.

The Warriors' first two home games in 2010 against Cronulla and Manly drew a combined attendance of 34,544.
