Australia go top of ther World Cup group

Australia have gone to the top of Group A at the Cricket World Cup after beating Canada by 7 wickets in Bangalore, extending their unbeaten run in the World Cup to 34 matches, stretching back to 1999.

The match started well for Canada whose 19 year old opening batsman Hiral Patel scored a whirlwind half century, and his side was making good progress at 150 for 2.

But the middle order collapsed dramatically loisng 5 wickets for 19 runs and Canada were dismissed for 211.

The Australian openers Shane Watson with 94 and Brad Haddin 88 chased down most of the runs.
