Sergent earns first win of professional career

The New Zealand cyclist Jesse Sergent has claimed the first win of his fledgling professional career in the three day Tour of West Flanders, in Belgium.

Sergent, a Commonwealth Games medallist from Feilding, was the overall leder going into the final stage, and was among a group of 21 riders, who broke away after just 25kms of the 194km final stage, to finish in the leading bunch.
