F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone is planning to reschedule the Bahrain Grand Prix towards the end of this season.
Ecclestone, who says a decision will be made next week, has ruled out staging the event in August.
The race was due to be the season's opener on March 13th but had to be cancelled because of ongoing civil unrest in the Arab country.
Ecclestone says F1 fans in Bahrain deserve a grand prix this year.
Bahrain could become the penultimate race of the season between Abu Dhabi and Brazil.
