Sheridan out of Six Nations

6:17 am on 2 March 2011

The England prop Andrew Sheridan has been virtually ruled out of the remainder of the Six Nations rugby championship after tearing a calf muscle in last weekend's victory over France.

Coach Martin Johnson says the giant loosehead prop's championship is probably over unless there's huge improvement very quickly.

The injury deals a major blow to England's hopes of winning their first Grand Slam in eight years.
