Agent of charged AC Milan player hopeful UEFA go easy

European football's governing body UEFA has charged the AC Milan captain Gennaro Gattuso with gross unsporting conduct and opened disciplinary proceedings against the player.

Gattuso pushed Tottenham Hotspur's assistant coach Joe Jordan during Wednesday's 1-nil loss in their Champions league last-16 first leg match at the San Siro and then headbutted him after the final whistle.

Gattuso has since apologised but UEFA's control and disciplinary body will meet on Tuesday to discuss the case and most likely announce a ban.

Andrea D'Amico is Gattuso's agent and he hopes that UEFA will take the player's previous good conduct into account.

The second leg tie between AC Milan and Tottenham takes place on March the 9th in England.
