Bangladeshi authorities have arrested the owner of a printing press and three staff for allegedly producing fake tickets for the cricket World Cup, which starts on Saturday in Dhaka.
Magistrate A.H.M Anwar Pasha says the anti-crime Rapid Action Battalion raided the press and made the arrests the previous day.
World Cup tickets are in high demand in Dhaka, where the Bangladesh Cricket Board released 9,000 tickets via a local bank for the opening match between Bangladesh and India.
Pasha says the forged tickets were unlikely to have given people access to the World Cup venues because barcode readers would have rejected them.
Dhaka is hosting six World Cup matches at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium and the opening ceremony.
