The Auckland Aces added the domestic one-day cricket championship to their Twenty20 title this season after beating Canterbury by six runs in a thrilling final in Christchurch.

Auckland scored a massive 335 for six from their 50 overs on the back of a run a ball 153 from former Black Cap Lou Vincent, and it appeared the Wizards would struggle to reach the target.

However Canterbury fought bravely and posted 329 for nine in reply, coming agonisingly close to winning another national title.

Opener Rob Nicol continued his magnificent run-scoring form for the Wizards this season posting 119 from 112 balls with eight fours and four sixes.
