England thrash Italy in Six Nations rugby

8:40 am on 13 February 2011

The England rugby team maintained their push for a first Six Nations title since 2003 with an eight-try demolition of Italy in a 59-13 victory at Twickenham this morning.

England, who opened their campaign with a win over Wales last week, looked dangerous whenever they got their hands on the ball.

Winger Chris Ashton scored four of England's tries and Jonny Wilkinson converted all eight.

Meanwhile Shane Williams scored the only two tries of the match as Wales finally showed glimpses of the form that has eluded them in recent games to beat Scotland 24-6 in their Six Nations encounter at Murrayfield.
