The world golf number one Lee Westwood has missed his first cut in over a year after crashing out of the Qatar Masters at the halfway stage in Doha.

Westwood missed the cut by one stroke and will now head to Dubai for a week's practice before the next European Tour tournament there, the Dubai Desert Classic.

Westwood is now in danger of losing his world number one crown should Germany's Martin Kaymer finish first or second in Doha.

However Kaymer is 10 strokes behind the leader Markus Brier of Austria.

The New Zealander Mark Brown made the cut and he's 7 strokes from the leader, while Danny Lee and Michael Campbell both missed the cut.
