New Zealand are on the verge of qualifying for the 2011 FIFA Under-17 football World Cup in Mexico, with only Tahiti standing in their way now in Wednesday's Oceania Championship junior final.

The Young All Whites beat Papua New Guinea 3-0 today to win the group and book their place in the decider - though the hosts only needed a point from their final pool game after three previous wins at North Harbour Stadium.

Ryan Howlett got on the scoreboard for New Zealand after 38 seconds then Nathan Buswell doubled the score in the 16th minute before Tim Payne sealed the points with the only goal in the second half.
